Job Description

The Media Assistant will work closely with the Art Director for the Lloyd Scholars for Writing and the Arts Program and Production Manager of FestiFools and FoolMoon to design and produce graphics and visuals for special events related to LSWA/FestiFools/FoolMoon. Job will be tailored to qualified applicant’s particular skills and creative interests and could include IT support, creation of digital promotional films, designing posters and advertising graphics, website design and maintenance, serving as staff photographer/videographer for LSWA and FestiFools events, Social Media content generator. Other duties include general art studio/administrative assistance, as needed.

Educational Value

The Media Assistant will have the opportunity to take initiative on various publicity projects for Lloyd Scholars for Writing and the Arts and FestiFools. The student will be given the opportunity to design and implement various media projects that will be used to promote the program. This is an excellent opportunity for developing previously existing IT skills and/or gaining experience producing independent projects.

Job Requirements

Previous experience (or willingness to learn) with digital cameras, projectors, sound equipment, photo processing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Powerpoint; general proficiency with iMovie or similar video editing software, general proficiency with Microsoft Office software and computer hardware; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, personable manner and comfortable dealing with students, faculty, parents, and the general public; ability to take initiative and to work well without close supervision. Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines; enjoy taking on challenging, creative assignments; must have a good sense of humor.

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
