Job Description
The Front Desk Entrance Monitor provides a consistent, professional presence at the front desk, serving as the first point of contact for all visitors to the Stephen M. Ross Academic Center. This position supports Academic Success Program (ASP) staff by monitoring activity within the academic center, particularly during evening hours, to help maintain a quiet, secure, and productive environment for student-athletes. The Front Desk Entrance Monitor greets visitors, responds to the front door intercom, verifies guests as appropriate, and buzzes approved visitors into the facility. The monitor assists in enforcing facility policies and protocols, provides excellent customer service, and collaborates with ASP staff to support the overall mission of fostering academic success and a positive learning environment for student-athletes.

The Front Desk Entrance Monitor position provides valuable hands-on experience in professional communication, customer service, and facility operations. Working alongside Academic Success Program (ASP) staff and interacting with student-athletes, the monitor develops essential skills in communication, time management, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail. The position also strengthens the ability to maintain a professional and welcoming environment while enforcing facility policies and procedures. Additionally, the role offers insight into the daily operations of academic support services within collegiate athletics, highlighting the importance of teamwork, accountability, and student success.     Demonstrates adaptability in a fast-paced environment and works collaboratively with ASP Staff and fellow student employees to support daily operations.

Work Schedule

Work schedules are based on the operating hours of the Stephen M. Ross Academic Center and follow the University's academic calendar.

Evening availability is required.

Student employees must be available to work one of the following shifts, Monday through Thursday:

  • 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

In addition, employees must be available to work one or more Sundays per semester from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, as scheduled.

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
