Job Description
Community Action Network's Food Program Assistant Position. 
Must be available at least two of the following time slots:
Mondays:10:00am - 3:00pm
Tuesday: 10:00am - 3:00pm
Wednesday: 8:30am - 3:00pm
Thursday: 8:30am - 3:pm
Friday 10:00am - 2:00pm
Job description: Kindly welcome and greet all clients with cultural competence that meets CAN's standards. Maintain client records and upload information into the program database. Conduct client intakes and consistently record program participation. Assist in the distribution of perishable and nonperishable products to a diverse population. Manage food pantry inventory (purge expired food, organize food, etc.). Identify and execute food program process improvements. Implement food program satisfaction surveys and update food resource information as needed. Maintain a clean and organized environment. 
Educational Value

CAN's BCC food distribution site is one of the largest distributors of food security support for under-resourced Washtenaw County families. This basic need service is a wonderful experience for students with a human service, social work, or related field background. It provides the opportunity to learn about client case management work, referrals, and to provide top quality customer service.

Job Requirements

Ability to work with people from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word and Excel) - Ability to use a computer and web browsing applications (ex. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla) - Excellent communication skills - Ability to repeatedly lift and move items over 25 lbs.

Hourly Rate $19.00/hour
Hours 10.0 to 18.0 hours per week
