Job Description

CSG Secretary Job Description:

University of Michigan Central Student Government (CSG) Secretary for the weekly Tuesday evening CSG legislative meetings, CSG evening government leadership meetings, and as-needed additional CSG judiciary hearings. Each CSG Assembly meeting will take place the first Tuesday after the first day of classes each fall and winter semester, and CSG judicial hearings are as needed. The CSG Secretary is required to take detailed and accurate minutes of each meeting for duration of the meeting. Prepare and maintain the CSG agenda with the Speakers of CSG Assembly, and CSG front office staff. Additionally, the CSG Secretary is responsible for editing & exporting the CSG meeting videos. 

Be prepared to take minutes & edit video footage for long hours, as CSG meetings may run from 2 to 6 hours or more each meeting. Additional minute-taking for multiple CSG meetings, hearings, events and meetings upon request will also be expected.

Increase your editorial skills as a secretary/minutes taker for the Central Student Government while learning more about CSG, student organization work, and student work with U-M administration. Increase your video editing skills.

Job Requirements

Excellent typing skills are expected. Must have good grammatical and spelling skills. Experience with MS WORD, Google Docs, formatting, and email. Knowledge of parliamentary procedure/Robert's Rule is a plus. Experience with video editing software is a plus. 

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
