Job Description

To assist with research activities in the Department of Psychiatry related to projects funded by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association. Major projects will focus on the daily experiences and well-being of people living with dementia and their family caregivers, including couples living with dementia and Black caregivers who support a person living with dementia.

Primary duties:

  • Assist with the recruitment and screening of study participants
  • Conduct phone interviews with study participants
  • Enter and verify participant data
  • Transcribe participant interviews
  • Compile and mail study materials
  • Perform literature searches
  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Value

  • Descriptive data analysis

Job Requirements

High school education is required. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn and develop additional skills related to data management (SPSS, REDCap) are required. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work well independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. Core hours will be between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays, but willingness to work some evening and weekend hours based on study needs is required. Academic knowledge of a health science discipline, such as public health, psychology, social work, or related behavioral sciences is highly desired but not required. Previous experience working with minoritized populations is highly desired but not required.
