Job Description

Job Summary:

The ConCERN Project is a digital health intervention being developed at Michigan Medicine to support caregivers of individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD). Our team is building an interactive web platform where caregivers can work through educational modules and content developed by the team, with the goal of increasing individual support and guidance on navigating treatment and care for their loved one(s).

We are seeking a creative Video Multimedia Designer to join our team in developing, designing, and producing short educational <1 minute videos for our intervention’s educational modules such as animation (similar to John Green’s Crash Course series). The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple short video design styles, illustrative motion graphics, narrated explainer videos, and short-form “TikTok”-style videos.

This role is perfect for someone with a passion for storytelling through multiple videos styles who enjoys working collaboratively in a team-based environment. The designer will receive scripted content, feedback, and creative input from team members throughout the design and production process to ensure high-quality, impactful video experiences.

Educational Value

·       Hands-on experience contributing to a real-world digital health intervention being evaluated as part of a research study.

·       Practical exposure to health communication and behavioral science, focusing on translating evidence-based messages into engaging multimedia content.

·       Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, designers, and educators, gaining insight into how multimedia supports clinical education and digital intervention delivery.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

·      Demonstrated experience creating animated and educational videos, motion graphics, graphic design or short-form multimedia content.

·      Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges in video production and develop creative, effective solutions.

·      Proficiency with video and animation software, such as Adobe Suite, Adobe Firefly, online video softwares (i.e. Powtoon)

·      Experience with storyboarding, visual storytelling, and editing audio/visual content for clarity and engagement.

·      Portfolio of past video and video animation work demonstrating creative and technical skill

Hourly Rate $25.00/hour to $30.00/hour
