Job Description

The Lee laboratory studies the biology of pancreatic cancer and its tumor microenvironment, with particular interest in hypoxia and immune cells. 
 
Students will assist with three important areas of our research:

  1. General lab maintenance (including washing/autoclaving lab equipment and supplies, and preparing for experiment solutions/reagents)
  2. Maintenance of the mouse colony (including euthanizing mice)
  3. DNA isolation and genotyping PCR

 

Educational Value

Once trained, students will have the opportunity to assist with research experiments. They will learn basic molecular biology techniques and general laboratory practices.

Job Requirements
  1. Must be willing to work with mice. 
  2. Reliability and organizational skills are essential. The student will be expected to work as part of a team under the direct guidance of laboratory trainees and the supervision of the principal investigator.
  3. A student who will be a freshman or sophomore this fall is preferred.
  4. A student who is available to work during academic semesters and future summer terms is preferred.

 

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
