Michigan Medicine's Infection Prevention & Epidemiology (IPE) Department is looking to fill temporary, part-time hand hygiene observer positions. Those hired will be observing and collecting compliance data according to the Hand Hygiene (HH) Program standards and expectations from inpatient and procedural areas including but not limited to, University Hospital, Mott Children's Hospital, Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital, and the Frankel Cardiovascular Center. In addition, the hand hygiene observer will also function as a PPE (personal protective equiptment) auditor collecting staff PPE compliance data according to the health system's transmission-based isolation/precautions standards. There is also the possibility of performing observations at ambulatory sites as well which may not be located on the main medical campus (off-site). HH observers may also be involved in training new observers, attending hand hygiene meetings/workgroups, and assisting with other hand hygiene improvment initiatives. There is a required minimum of 8 hours per week with the possibility to work up to 29 hours per week (depending on hour availability). Work hours are flexible, and can be scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Observers are expected to commit to a consistent number of work hours per week (exceptions can be considered for illness, academic requirments, etc). Work is done at the hospitals/health centers. |
