Job Description

Performance Nutrition Interns will serve as members of the multidisciplinary Performance Team and will work directly with Football Performance Dietitians and the Nutrition Operations Coordinator to promote and improve the health and well-being of University of Michigan Football student-athletes.

Educational Value

Performance Nutrition Interns and Volunteers will earn experience within the field of sports nutrition. Students will collaborate with the staff of Football Dietitians to develop protocols to monitor and enhance the health and well being of student athletes. Kinesiology, Science, and Public Health students especially will garner experiences that will add real world application to in class learning.

Job Requirements
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures set forth by the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Must be able to carry heavy items (about 50lbs), including cases of drinks, shakes, food and chafing dishes, etc. multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to perform all job-related tasks in various environments, including outside at practices and games and in cold and inclement weather as part of the interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Must provide a high level of customer service.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive and appropriate working relationships with colleagues, coaches, student-athletes, physicians, and other allied health personnel.
Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
Hours 10.0 to 20.0 hours per week
