Job Description

Student Building Coordinator Job Description

Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) is seeking a hardworking graduate student (or student with 1 year of FSL Student Building Assistant experience) to serve as a student building coordinator at 1443 Washtenaw. They will set-up and breakdown events and meeting spaces and provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders. Additionally, they will be the point of contact for student building staff during evening and weekend hours. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between all building team members during evening and weekend shifts.

  • Provide leadership during evening and weekend shifts when professional staff are not physically present.

  • Execute building opening and closing operations according to FSL policy and procedure

  • Learn, uphold, and enforce all campus and building safety policies and procedures 

  • Provide the appropriate response to emergencies impacting guests and/or facilities

  • Coordinate and execute event space set-up and breakdown and serve as primary support person for events hosted at 1443 Washtenaw

  • Assist with audio/visual equipment in event spaces and problem-solve in an efficient and professional manner to resolve guest inquiries

  • Track and report building utilization and maintenance issues during hourly rounds to campus units and FSL professional staff

  • Attend and participate in mandatory training, monthly staff meetings, and professional development initiatives

  • Ensure adherence to space usage policies and guidelines

  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of FSL

Job Requirements

Availability to work evenings (M-TH 4:45pm to 10pm) , and Sundays (11:00 am - 8:30 pm) as scheduled.

Mandatory training will be scheduled prior to first shift.

Student must be a graduate or professional student or have one year of experience as an FSL Student Building Assistant.

Hourly Rate $16.25/hour to $16.50/hour
