** This position is available to graduate students only **Position DescriptionThe Science Learning Center (SLC) hosts more than 4,000 peer-led appointment-based and drop-in tutoring sessions each semester for undergraduate students in 20 natural science courses. The Graduate Program Assistant supports the day-to-day administration, communication, and ongoing development of the SLC Tutoring Program. This role works closely with the Tutoring Program Manager to help maintain smooth program operations, support undergraduate student staff, and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and well-organized tutoring experience for both tutors and students. This role is ideal for a graduate student who enjoys behind-the-scenes program coordination, working with undergraduate student staff, and contributing to student success through thoughtful administrative and developmental support. The position offers opportunities to build skills in supervision support, program assessment, project management, communication, and educational program operations. Pay Rate: $20/hour Typical Time Commitment: 10 hours per week (in-person) Core ResponsibilitiesAssist in the tutor observation and evaluation process by attending tutoring sessions and providing feedback Monitor observation form submissions for completion and quality Review tutor training submissions and award credit for completed requirements Track tutor progress toward College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certification Facilitate ongoing Level 1 training sessions for tutors Regularly monitor tutoring feedback survey results and share key themes with the Tutoring Program Manager Create and distribute the Tutoring Program newsletter Assist in creating publicity materials, newsletters, and social media content Coordinate follow-up reminders for undergraduate student staff about missed requirements or deadlines Assist in preparing for and facilitating Tutor Interview Day each semester Coordinate with Tutor Team Leaders (TTLs) to support team-building efforts Assist in representing the SLC Tutoring Program at campus events, class visits, resource fairs, and other outreach opportunities Lead or support planning for student staff events, including the End of Year celebration Assist with data collection and basic analysis for program assessment and end-of-year reporting
