Job Description

The Housing Support and Community Responsibility (HSCR) team includes 7 full-time staff and 11 student employees whose aim is to support residents through a restorative justice (RJ) lens as they navigate the challenges and expectations of living in Michigan Housing. Rooted in restorative practices (RP), RJ is a process that engages community members in conversations about harm and collective accountability — working with stakeholders to recognize, address, and restore trust when harm may have been caused by others' words or actions.

The Community Circle Program is one way HSCR works to help students take accountability for their actions. The circle experience allows participants to explore the impact of harm and find collaborative ways to address it. The Community Circle Program is a peer-led RJ program in which student staff members facilitate meaningful dialogue with individuals and groups around harm, accountability, and repair. Community Circle Program Assistants (CCPAs) serve as central facilitators of this work with support from HSCR Program Assistants.

This job has a start date of August 24, 2026. In-person training for this job will occur. Student staff meetings will take place weekly throughout the 2026-2027 academic year on Tuesdays from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM.
