Job Description
 

The Department of Emergency Medicine is searching for student employees to join the Max Harry Weil institute for Critical Care Research and Innovation's preclinical research team. This position involves basic preclinical science and translational research that focuses on management and treatment strategies for the critically ill and injured. Specific areas of interest and current focus include but are not limited to models of hemorrhagic shock, sudden cardiac arrest, traumatic brain injury, sepsis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. The applicants will work closely with a diverse team of research staff in established labs at the North Campus Research Complex (NCRC) and possible occasions at the University Hospital. This position is ideal for students with background and interest in pursuing a degree in the medical and scientific fields. 

 

The successful candidate will be trained to assist in laboratory experiments which may include assisting with minor and complex surgical procedures, and a wide variety of biological sample collection and testing. Regular duties may also include maintaining laboratory equipment, autoclaving supplies, and data collection/management.

Some collection of clinical data and records management may be required. Participation in regular lab meetings and discussions is required. The candidate must work effectively in a team setting, communicate effectively, and keep clear precise records. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
