Job Description

The Insect Division in the Museum of Zoology is currently engaged with projects that will result in public digital dissemination of hi-resolution photos and associated collecting information for major parts of our museum holdings. If you are into photography, data management, insects, museums, come hone your skills with cool bees, grasshoppers and mites (some collected from the days of Darwin during the early 1800s). You will be working as part of a team whose goal is to photograph and document over 100,000 bugs! No experience necessary and we will provide all needed training.

Educational Value

This position will offer experience in biodiversity science and museum studies. Students will learn: (1) proper museum specimen handling; (2) understanding of relational database architecture; (3) database management; (4) macrophotography; (5) team-building and team engagement.

Job Requirements

Applicants should have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
