Job Description

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) is seeking a hardworking graduate student to assist the department in implementing the community standards program initiatives. FSL is a dynamic community made up of four unique councils: Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and Panhellenic Association (Panhel) and more than 50 fraternities and sororities. 

This position will support student self-governance in Fraternity & Sorority Life through the advisement and training of accountability boards. This position will work closely with FSL staff to evaluate current policies and practices in Fraternity & Sorority Life related to organizational accountability and prevention.

Advising and Training 65%

  • Co-advise Greek Activities Review Panel (GARP)

  • Co-advise Social Responsibility Committee (SRC)

  • Coordinate GARP justice training logistics

  • Coordinate SRC training logistics

  • Provide coaching to FSL chapters to support their organizational and leadership development.

  • Assist with the development and facilitation of educational programs as they relate to organizational accountability outcomes and prevention strategies. 

Assessment 25%

  • Ensure accurate records in GARP and SRC databases

  • Assist with review of New Member Education/Intake programs as needed

  • Develop assessment for GARP and SRC training

  • Prepare weekly full-scope accountability reports for the FSL team. 

  • Contribute to a longitudinal report of organizational conduct for chapters over a five-year period

  • Make recommendations for updates to relevant Fraternity & Sorority Life policies

Additional Responsibilities 10%

  • Serve as staff member on duty for Social Responsibility Committee

  • Collaborate with other University departments as needed for programs and education

  • Develop professional development plan to be executed throughout term

  •  Other duties as assigned
