Job Description

Position Summary:
The Rackham Graduate School Professional Development and Engagement team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support administrative tasks, office operations, and event execution. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in higher education administration and program support while assisting with both virtual and in-person activities. This position is available for end of spring and summer term with pssible continuation through spring/summer 2027 contigent upon job performance and available funding.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, survey data tabulation, report compilation, and monitoring virtual workshops.

  • Support program managers in planning and executing events, including greeting attendees, setting up linens, retrieving catering orders delivered, taking inventory, taking attendance, liaising with facilities when asked to, running errands, obtaining quotes for event items, and other in-house services as needed.

  • Logistical support for virtual workshops on Zoom.

  • Help digitize sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality.

  • Provide general office support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Offer support at the front desk when practicable

Work Environment:

  • This position includes a combination of remote and in-person work at the Rackham Building.

  • In-person duties may involve event support, office errands, and assisting with event logistics.

Job Requirements

Requirements for the Job:  Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and Canvas.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.  Ability to work in a busy environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
