Job Description

The Department of Michigan Chemical Engineering is seeking a Digital  Marketing Student Assistant with a background in communications, marketing, or graphic design. The role involves managing content and storytelling creation for social media in Sprout Social and our website news feed, researching digital marketing strategies, compiling and editing content for Mailchimp campaigns, updating various metrics, and providing as-needed graphic design support. 

 

Candidates must be skilled in the Adobe Suite, including Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, with an interest in learning Premiere Pro or additional Adobe software. The ability to multitask, prioritize, accept feedback, and thrive in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

Educational Value

Gain experience working in a professional communications and marketing setting, particularly by gaining skills in digital marketing and content creation.

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements
  • Communications, marketing, or graphic design experience (can include current studies and coursework)

  • Strong graphic design skills. Experience designing assets in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign while keeping layers and files organized and clean. 

  • Desire to learn about social media and content calendar management. 

  • Open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism, and able to integrate it into projects.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines

  • Interest in email marketing with experience using Mailchimp is a plus. 

  • Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus.

  • Long-form storytelling experience is a plus.
