Job Description

We are looking for a motivated individual to assist us in animal genotyping and the preparation of lab consumables. The job responsibilities include:

  • PCR-based genotyping of mouse- and C.elegans strains (students will not need to handle animals)
  • Preparation of C. elegans and E.coli growth plates (involves media preparation, autoclaving, and palte pouring)
  • Preparation of general consumables (e.g. antibiotic stock solutions, buffers, etc.)

The student will be directly supervised by an experienced lab member. 

Educational Value

Students will be individually trained and obtain profound knowledge and hands-on expertise in key wet-lab methods, which will be valuable assets for their future research career.

Job Requirements

We are looking for a UM undergraduate student with work study financial aid. Must have an interest in lab science; no previous lab experience required but preferred. The ideal candidate plans to work 2+ years in our lab.
