Job Description

Event Assistant Needed!

 

The Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery and Engineering (MICDE) in the Office of the Vice President for Research is the focal point for the wide spectrum of research in computational science and engineering at the University of Michigan.

 

MICDE is seeking highly motivated students to assist at the Predictive Science Symposium on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14-15, 2026, between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm both days. You need to be available for at least a 4-hour block at a time!

 

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 

 

The duties for this position include assisting with:

  • Event setup and takedown
  • Symposium registration
  • Assist conference attendants (finding sessions, restrooms, etc.)

Salary: $15/hr.

Schedule: April 14-15, 2026, between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm (min. 4 hrs. required)

Location: Palmer Commons 4th floor, 100 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor

Prior event planning and coordination experience is an advantage but not required.
