Job Description

The Digital Accessibility Assistant primarily supports the Office of Continuing Education at the School of Social Work with reviewing and editing captions, creating descriptive transcripts, and other accessibility related tasks for continuing education courses. Other projects relevant to continuing education courses will be assigned when accessibility-related projects may not be available. Training and guidance will be provided for those with no previous experience, and some work may be completed remotely.

 
Educational Value

Student will have the opportunity to learn about the user experience side of educational program design, especially as it relates to accessibility and inclusion. The position also offers the opportunity to gain knowledge on an array of topics relevant to social work and social justice practices while reviewing course materials. Candidates who are intrinsically motivated to learn about a range of social work topics and how to increase digital accessibility with cultural humility for adult learners would be well-suited to this position.

 
Job Requirements

Ideal candidate will have strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision, and the ability to work independently.

Prefer a student with a strong commitment to improving digital accessibility on campus, and/or student with an interest in social justice and the field of social work.

 
Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $17.50/hour
Hours 10.0 to 20.0 hours per week
