The successful applicant will assist in the daily operations and routine maintenance duties at the Belleville Lake boathouse, under the direction of the Rigger and Operations Assistant for U-M Women’s Rowing. Typical duties shall include: supporting and communicating with coaches during practice, refueling launches, cleaning boats, docks and facilities, helping to move boats, docks and other heavy and awkward objects, performing minor repairs to buildings and equipment, emptying trash and recycling containers, completing routine daily/weekly/monthly checklists, and completing minor landscaping projects. The work schedule revolves around the boathouse practice schedule, which is: 6 ~ 9 am during the Fall, 3 ~ 6 pm during the Winter and Spring, and 7 ~ 11 am most Saturdays. Additional projects can be accomplished outside of practice times, built around your availability. When the team is practicing indoors, November ~ February, there will be opportunities to work on campus cleaning and maintaining equipment. Because this job is located off-campus, applicants will need to provide or arrange their own transportation, to the boathouse in Van Buren Park (14 miles from South Campus). |
