Michigan Medicine’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital School Program is seeking a part time (8-16 hrs/wk) Teachers Assistant  to provide educational support for patients at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital within our hospital classroom.  This position will engage with patients who are significantly impacted by chronic illness and their families.  The age range of the potential patient population is Kindergarten through college with an emphasis on reading intervention and the K-8 population. We promote a culture of innovation and inclusion that respects individual strengths, preferences, and experiences to foster patient and family-centered and developmentally appropriate care.

Graduate student/junior/senior standing; volunteer or work experience with children of varying ages - i.e. in group settings, child care, school, camp; related course work in child development, education, psychology, etc; creative, enthusiastic and excellent interpersonal as well as communication skills. Candidates with strong backgrounds in providing recreational activities to children in group settings are highly desired.
