Job Description

Michigan Dining is looking for students to join our team providing database and communication support. A successful candidate will be motivated, self-disciplined, energetic, and capable of operating independently. Candidates for this position will have some experience with data entry and should be comfortable with Microsoft Office and G Suite products. Technical expertise is not required, as long as a candidate demonstrates critical thinking, logical problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn.

 

 Job Duties:

  • Respond to students, staff, and parents about general Michigan Dining inquires

  • Basic data entry into food service databases and shared resources

  • Project-Based Work (past examples: pricing updates, creating training guides, data analysis, data audits, and data clean-up)

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Able to work a minimum of 10 hours weekly

  • Be comfortable with Microsoft Office and G Suite products

  • Demonstrated history of proactively working on tasks and projects, efficiently and accurately independent of supervision or immediate assistance

  • Ability to communicate and interact with customers and fellow staff members (both verbally and in writing) in a professional and friendly manner

  • Demonstrated ability for attention to detail

  • Effective time management skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 20 pounds

 

 The desired qualifications for this position are:

  • Be comfortable troubleshooting technology 

  • Ability to make a two-year commitment

  • Previous job experience
