The Graduate Team Leads play a crucial role in providing supervision and leadership to multiple Student Engagement Coordinators (undergraduate) at Trotter Multicultural Center. Graduate Team Leads are responsible for contributing to the ongoing development and staff training, providing workshift supervision during evening and weekend hours, facilitating weekly skills labs using M-LEAD competencies and intercultural development models, and assisting in event setup and breakdown. Graduate Team Leads also offer support to Student Engagement Coordinators, deliver exceptional customer service, and assist with managing front desk operations. This role operates primarily during evening and weekend hours when professional staff presence is reduced, with dual reporting to the Operations and Engagement Manager and Community and Innovation Program Manager. Key Responsibilities: 1. Undergraduate Student Employee Supervision: Provide supervision and leadership to multiple undergraduate student employees, offering guidance, support, and feedback to enhance team performance and effectiveness. This includes serving as lead on the team that you are assigned to, providing help and assistance as needed 2. Staff Training and Development: Develop and implement training workshops for student engagement coordinators, conducting weekly skills labs and assisting undergraduates in achieving their professional development goals through one-on-one meetings. 3. Workshift Supervision: Supervise work shifts during evening and weekend hours (4 pm-Midnight M-F and 10am-Midnight Sat-Sun), ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to policies and procedures. May serve as an evening and weekend manager on duty, overseeing operations and responding to emergencies or incidents as needed. 4. Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist in the setup and breakdown of events and meeting spaces, collaborating with team members to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction. 5. Customer Service Excellence: Deliver excellent customer service to guests, visitors, and students, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the front desk. 6. Workplace Environment: Cultivate a positive and inclusive workplace environment, fostering teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect among team members. 7. Intercultural Development and Learning: Contribute to the learning agenda regarding current trends and students' needs in multicultural and intercultural development. This may include research projects, social media campaigns, mini workshops, discussions, or other creative projects. 8. Student Success Advocacy: Demonstrate a commitment to student success. Advocate for initiatives within the Center and across campus, promoting student success via awareness and understanding of multicultural issues. |
