IPE Peer Advisor Primary Responsibilities:
Advising (40%) | Advise engineering students about study abroad opportunities and the International Minor for Engineers (training provided). Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the IPE office.
Outreach & Events (25%) | Represent IPE at events such as Northfest, on-campus study abroad fairs, pre-departure orientations; presentations to student orgs and other groups; and tabling around North Campus. Assist with creation of various outreach materials and resources. Students in this role are expected to work certain events outside of the IPE office advising hours.
Special Projects (25%) | Assist the IPE office in maintaining and updating key advising or marketing resources (e.g. updating databases and MCompass brochures, mapping coursework abroad, developing advising tools, etc.)
General office duties (10%) | answering phones, emails, taking passport photos

Required Qualifications:
College of Engineering undergraduate student in good standing with previous study abroad or work abroad experience while in college
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong organizational skills
Available to work 5-10 hours per week mainly between 1-4 p.m. M-F, for a minimum of 2 terms.
Attendance at peer advisor training meetings every other week during academic year
Available to work additional events (3-4/semester) outside the hours of 1-4 p.m. such as info sessions, tabling events, fairs and orientations.
Desired Qualifications
Alumni of an IPE study abroad program (strongly preferred)
