Job Description

Purpose: 

Support Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services with marketing and communication activities to support the work of the unit as it disseminates its message on and off campus, to donors, and beyond, within the scope of the SAAS mission.

Job Duties: 

Assist with the coordination of a broad range of social media and marketing tasks using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and any emerging social media platforms. Brainstorm fun new ways to creatively engage and build the unit’s social media community, including some donor communications. Craft grammatically correct, well-worded and engaging posts for all social media platforms. Occasionally attend and take photographs at special events. Communicate with staff to gather information about events, news and promotions. Organize/add to existing content calendar for social media posts. Help analyze success of both social media sites and posts in order to monitor and build community and engagement. 

Time committment: 6 hours per week beginning in May through the end of August (end date negotiable and recommending short break before Fall semester/September)

This role will begin again in the Fall semester at a slightly reduced 5 hours per week for Fall & Winter semesters; if interested, the hired summer 2024 candidate may choose to extend this role into the Fall/Winter semesters. Otherwise we will re-post the job again for Fall/Winter Semester.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Strong writing skills; dependable; creative thinker; friendly and curious; good common sense; articulate; professional; able to multi-task and pay attention to detail; basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, and common social media sites and managers; knowledge of disability issues, and creating accessible media.

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $20.00/hour
