Job Description

The Frankel Cardiovascular Center internal communications and events team is seeking a communications assistant to support the execution of the center’s events and communications. Duties may include event support, social media support, digital media creation, design of print materials, preparing Power Point slides, small writing assignments, and general office duties.

The ideal candidate must be able to start immediately and end no earlier than April 14, 2025. Candidate should have availability to work in-person on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with the potential for remote work on Wednesday or Friday. 10 hours per week, ranging from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Weekly hours may vary and can be determined around class schedule.

Educational Value

This position offers an opportunity to acquire professional/administration skills, learn about office communications and event planning in a medical center environment, and work in a team environment to meet institutional initiatives. 

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications: High school diploma. Minimum of two years of college level courses. Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Proficiency using a digital media creation platform i.e., Canva, photoshop, etc. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Strong writing and editing skills. Strong critical thinking. Demonstrated excellence in performance, striving for accuracy and professionalism is necessary.

Desired Qualifications: 3 or more years of college level courses. Highly skilled in Microsoft office software products. Prefer coursework in Communication/English in LS&A, School of Public Health, or the Ross School of Business. Experience with planning and executing large events. Adaptable to new and changing situations. Collaborative working style.
