Job Description

Video Content Creator

U-M students in these positions will act as video content creators for the University of Michigan Admissions social media accounts, with a focus on Instagram reels, targeted to prospective students throughout the admissions cycle. The goal of these positions is to create fun, relevant, and authentic content to connect with future Wolverines.

U-M Enrollment Management video content creators will develop short form vertical video content about their unique experiences as Wolverines with an insider’s perspective for future students, providing original content regarding their experiences with campus life, academic life, and other Admissions priorities. They will also have the opportunity to brainstorm and create content from their own ideas.

Candidates should have a passion for social media, video content creation, and the University of Michigan. Students should also be comfortable being in front of the camera, conducting short interviews, and having their work shared with large audiences.

Video topics will be decided ahead of video creation by the supervisor and video content creator based on current goals. The content creator will be expected to share an initial video draft to be reviewed by the marketing team and edited based on feedback. Once final videos are created and approved, they will be shared by the marketing content strategist on social media.

As part of your application, we’d love to see any TikTok content created, Instagram story or reels content, or other video creation and production materials. Applicants should submit social media handles and examples to shaykell@umich.edu.
