Job Description

The Community Health Program Assistant will support U of M Health’s efforts to promote health equity and enhance community health education. This role involves data management, program support, and various administrative tasks that contribute to the success of departmental initiatives. The position is ideal for students who are organized, detail oriented, and proactive, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Those with a genuine interest in research, community engagement, and health equity will excel in this role.

 

Responsibilities: 

Manage data entry and analysis using Qualtrics and Excel and other database tools to support health equity and community health education projects.

Assist with program evaluation, outreach activities, and Community Benefit and Community Health Needs Assessment reporting.

Develop and update materials, including reports, infographics, flyers, and website content, using tools like Canva, PowerPoint, and SharePoint to effectively communicate program outcomes and promote initiatives.

Provide general administrative support, including organizing materials and supplies, conducting grant searches, and maintaining project documentation.

Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships and ensuring alignment with departmental goals.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

Current work study eligible student.

Strong attention to detail and proficiency in data entry and analysis using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and Qualtrics.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information.

Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with experience using tools like Canva, PowerPoint, and SharePoint for creating and managing professional materials.

Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, demonstrating strong organizational skills, time management, and a proactive approach.

A demonstrated interest in research, health equity, community health education, or related fields, with a collaborative and adaptable mindset.

Desired Qualifications: 

Graduate student in public health, social sciences, health administration, informatics, education, or urban planning, with a focus on health equity, community engagement, and data management.

Experience in social research, particularly in health or community settings.

Experience with basic data analysis and interpretation.

Familiarity with healthcare, health equity, or community engagement initiatives.

Hourly Rate $18.00/hour
