Job Description

BlueWillow Biologics is a clinical-stage biotech company developing and enabling a new generation of safe and effective intranasal vaccines and immunotherapy to protect populations from respiratory infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and food allergies. We are seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician to support our team of exceptional researchers.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with media and reagent preparation
  • Perform basic microbiology, chemistry, and molecular biology tests and compile data
  • Conduct various laboratory experiments under the supervision of senior researchers
  • Maintain an organized inventory of lab materials and supplies
  • Place and manage vendor orders for reagents, lab materials, and supplies
  • Clean, wash, and distribute glassware to the appropriate labs
  • Sterilize glassware and other items using an autoclave
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained, and the lab environment is clean
  • Aid with processing outgoing shipments

Job Requirements

Qualifications and key competencies:

  • Ability to work an average of 20 hours per week, accommodating your class schedule
  • Pursuing a degree in a scientific discipline
  • Previous lab experience and familiarity with standard lab equipment are a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Western blotting techniques, including sample preparation and gel electrophoresis, is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with computer skills and Microsoft programs
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Dependable and able to work independently
Hours 20.0 hours per week
Compensation $18.00/hour
