Work in collaboration with Art in Public Spaces Curator and Manager to:
Conducting curatorial research on U-M public art collection
Assisting with entering object records in the Art in Public Spaces collection database
Assist Manager of Art in Public Spaces with the intake and processing of artwork for the Art in Residence Halls program
APS admin work, including project timeline organization and document updating
Conduct research for the public art app
Occasionally assist with event organization and setup
Attend project meetings (where able) and take notes
Office experience, learning how an arts organization is run, building knowledge of university systems, curatorial and registration experience
Development of technical skills: project coordination, community building, leadership, event management skills
Availability to work approximately 15-20 hours per week, scheduling flexible, through the end of winter semester 2025 with the possibility to extend
Strong organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, dependable
Confident interpersonal skills and a desire to build community
Excellent communication skills and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Advanced writing and editing skills
Ability to set and manage priorities, handle multiple assignments and deadlines
Knowledge of Google Suite applications
Interest in the arts
