Job Description

The University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center (IPC) will be offering a learning experience for a current public health graduate student. The student will partner with faculty at the IPC to support research projects within their concussion portfolio, including the Ivy League Big Ten Epidemiology of Concussion Study.

Educational Value

The student will gain valuable experience working on research projects focused on the epidemiology of concussion and will be able to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a real-world setting.

Job Requirements

Eligibility Requirement:

· Enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program in Biostatistics or Epidemiology

Qualifications:

· Completed at least one graduate-level introduction to statistics course (e.g., BIOSTAT 501)

· Ability to work independently in a collegial environment

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency with at least one statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS, SPSS)

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist in planning, developing, and implementing research projects

· Analyze data and prepare findings in tables and figures

· Attend regular team meetings

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $20.00/hour
