This part-time employment is available immediately as an addition to the WDI's (William Davidson Institute's) Energy & Mobility team.

This employment offers the U-M graduate student up to ten (10) hours per week this academic term (and if mutually agreeable, possibly into the Winter academic term, too); this job is not accompanied by employee benefits. This role offers a great deal of flexibility in scheduling time to be worked; the vast majority of this work will be done remotely (off-site). While an occasional in-person meeting might be requested from time to time, that can be discussed with the successful candidate. NOTE: WDI office is scheduled to move off-campus in December 2024. 

Here is a representative list of job duties in supporting the Energy & Mobility team:

• Conduct desk research (aka: secondary research) and analysis to support select WDI energy/mobility research projects
• Support the development of presentations, articles, and reports
• Participate in interviews or meetings with external stakeholders related to active research

Requirements describing the Successful Candidate:

• A masters level student at U-M currently pursuing a degree at the Ross School of Business, School for Environment and Sustainability, Ford School of Public Policy, College of Literature, Science and Arts (for example, but not limited to, economics, sociology, international studies), School of Information, or a related dual-degree program 
• Has prior academic or professional experience related to energy and/or mobility, consulting experience for private sector or non-profit clients, or research experience related to energy or environmental business, policy, or social issues
• Is a self-starter and proficient at internet research, etc.
• Has good analytical skills and superior English written communication skills; Spanish would be a plus
• Is authorized to work lawfully in the USA part-time for WDI. Note: Unfortunately, this role is not approved for "sponsorship" related to employment-based visa status.
