Job Summary: You will work with a tenure track faculty member on visually inaccessible course preparation and teaching materials. Visual interpreting is a relatively new field of work, prior experience is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Make and edit visually appealing presentations. This includes:
- Create high-quality graphics with guidance from the instructor.
- Design presentations in PowerPoint with guidance from the instructor.
- Ensure presentations meet accessibility best practices.
- Provide access to inaccessible content and activities. This includes:
- Improve inaccessible presentations and documents into accessible formats.
- Help with technology setup which can involve inaccessible touch screen panels.
- Help with the accessibility of visual cues during lectures.
- Help with administrative tasks that are inaccessible or not optimized for efficiency with accessibility solutions. This includes:
- Help with scheduling events by checking availability across multiple attendee calendars, filling in scheduling polls, and providing the instructor’s availability.
- Help fill in forms and documentation preparation related to the instructor’s professional activities. This may include working with inaccessible teaching administrative portals.
