Job Description

The University of Michigan School of Public Health is seeking a Student Coordinator to help our instructional services team transition courses from the Coursera Learning Management System (LMS) to the Canvas LMS, as well as apply design tools to enhance course sites. This position offers an opportunity for a motivated student to contribute to the improvement of learning experiences at our institution.

The Student Coordinator will collaborate with the instructional services team to transfer (or sometimes rebuild) course content, and apply design tools and techniques to create visually appealing and user-friendly course sites on the Canvas LMS, and ensure that course materials are accessible and compliant with regulations. Work study eligibility required. Training will be provided. This is a remote position starting immediately with the possibility of continuing in the Fall/Winter term.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with instructional services team members to transfer course content from Coursera to Canvas.

  • Apply design tools and techniques to create visually appealing and intuitive course site layouts on the Canvas LMS.

  • Optimize course site navigation and organization to facilitate easy access to materials and resources.

  • Assist with course accessibility compliance (checking readings and other course materials for accessibility, and creating accessible materials or applying accessibility tools to existing materials)
