Job Description

The students will be abstracting Genesee County 911 dispatch data into a secure, REDCap database.  This will involve reading the 911 call narratives and entering values into a checkbox/radio button style form.  They will work with faculty (Greineder, Schmitzberger) or residents (Cohen, Dinsmore, Laird) to learn the abstraction process and will have regular check-ins to monitor the quality of their work.

Educational Value

The students, who are all EMTs, will learn about the care of patients with out of hospital cardiac arrest, as well as ways in which 911 dispatch data might help clinician researchers better understand what is happening with these patients in the pre-hospital setting.
