The Social Media Coordinator will assist in designing, creating and implementing social media content for the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) at the University of Michigan. The role focuses on highlighting the university’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives through regular content updates across ODEI’s social media platforms including Instagram, X and LinkedIn. This person will report to the writer/communications specialist. The duties and responsibilities of the social media coordinator include, but are not limited to: Develop weekly Instagram posts and stories Promote upcoming events through social media Create basic graphic designs Brainstorm innovative and engaging strategies to build the department’s social media presence Write descriptions for DEI initiatives across the University of Michigan Assist with scheduling and managing a social media content calendar Connect U-M DEI programs with student audiences Create additional social media content as needed
Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required. The social media coordinator will have the flexibility to work primarily remote, with occasional on-site work for meetings and events. |
