Job Description

The LSA International Institute is seeking a Marketing and Media Assistant to provide communications support and contribute to social media strategy in a professional setting.

This part-time position offers 8-12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling based on student class commitments. The role includes opportunities for additional hours as needed.

Duties include:

  • Create engaging posts for social media platforms, including Instagram (stories, posts, and reels), X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook.

  • Create event entries on the Happening@Michigan calendar.

  • Use templates to insert content into graphic design and email marketing applications.

  • Distribute posters around campus according to a provided list.

  • Pick up and drop off materials on campus.

  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Educational Value

Students will gain hands-on experience with office procedures and university policies in higher education. This position will offer an opportunity to strengthen communication, organizational, and creative skills while contributing to real-world marketing and social media projects. By working as part of a professional team, students will also develop an understanding of design, branding, content creation, and audience engagement strategies, preparing them for future roles in design and communications or related fields.
