Job Description

The Communications Associate provides administrative support to carry out communications that will advance the park’s mission of environmental education, community health, and justice. This role involves managing Fellowfield’s e-newsletter, maintaining timely updates to the park’s website and social media, and helping to develop and implement a communications plan for the park’s grand opening. This role is critical for enhancing community engagement and increasing awareness of the park’s offerings. An ideal candidate will bring some experience with communication and design tools, but this is also an opportunity to develop skill in these areas and learn new strategies and software applications for project planning, website design, and email marketing. Key Duties: -Assist in drafting and distributing the quarterly newsletter. -Update and maintain website content and social media platforms under the Director’s guidance. -Help in the creative development and implementation of the grand opening communications plan. -Find advertising opportunities and create advertising materials to promote events and education programs. -Organize and maintain communications files, schedules, and materials. Job end date is flexible and will be discussed during the interview process.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: -Strong organizational, administrative, and writing skills. -Demonstrated commitment to respecting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work and collaboration. -Access to Excel, Canva, Adobe, or similar organization and design software. -Experience with social media platforms and website maintenance. -Familiarity with email marketing tools preferred (or willing to learn). -Able to work collaboratively with a team and independently. -Commitment to environmental conservation, education, and justice. -Ability to work remotely and meet in-person once a week.

Hours 5.0 to 10.0 hours per week
Compensation $17.50/hour
