Posting Title:  Administrative Assistant

 

The LSA Facilities and Operations Department at the University of Michigan is searching for Student Temporary Employees to support our team. 

 

This position will report directly to the Business Manager of LSA F&O.  You will receive direction for your day to day workload from the LSA FO Administrative Professional and will work with a dynamic team of facilities professionals on a diverse portfolio of university projects and assignments within LSA Facilities.

 

Job Description 

 

LSA Facilities and Operations seeks organized, self-motivated individual(s) to assist our department in supporting the College of Literature Science and the Arts with building Facilities & Operations. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong organizational skills and willing to work independently and as part of a team. This is an in-person position, reporting to the main LSA F&O Office in 1131 USB; some limited remote assignments may be available. Duties will include (but are not limited to) updating signage, surveying departmental and classroom spaces, inventory, and ongoing photography of all LSA Spaces on Central Campus. Administrative duties will also be assigned and can include website maintenance and updates, policy and procedure editing and writing, calendar scheduling, and other administrative duties as assigned. This position will serve as a go-to support person for the entire LSA Facilities & Operations team and may be assigned to campus emerging items as they occur.  

 

Educational Value:  Students will gain experience learning building and facilities management and general office administrative and project management skills.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs onto a push cart & move furniture weighing up to 25lbs

  • Walk through central campus to classrooms and meeting spaces in various buildings while pushing a cart with supplies. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to problem solve, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.

  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Number of Available Openings: 2

Duration is per semester, extended opportunities are available for the right candidates, and schedules will be evaluated each semester.

Up to 20 hours per week 

Compensation: $15.00/hour to $17.00/hour, Depends on Experience and education.

Schedule: In person, 1131 USB, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
