Job Summary
The University of Michigan Wolverine Pathways was established to increase the high school graduation rate, college acceptance, and retention rates of academically promising scholars. The Data Assistant will support the Data Manager to create, maintain, assess, and improve all protocols and systems that ensure the collection, storage, integrity, and accessibility of all data essential to the programming, reporting, and administrative needs of Wolverines Pathways (WP). This position provides opportunities for the following educational values: enrollment and recruitment planning; data collection, data cleaning, and protection, professional development; efforts relevant to efforts to enhance DEI; ability to conduct needs assessments; increased awareness of campus partnerships and resources; research; ability to communicate and instruct; problem-solving.  
  • Data Assistant will work 16-24 hours per week 
  • Hybrid - some in-person dates may apply
  • Compensation: $20-22/hour
 
Responsibilities*
  • Entering, cleaning, and monitoring data to assure the quality and integrity of the data 
  • Supporting Wolverine Pathways staff with organizing, sorting, and merging data.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications*
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage changing priorities and ambiguity, anticipate needs, and maintain strong follow-through. 
  • Must be flexible, proactive, resourceful, and possess the ability to communicate project needs and outcomes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, data sheets, and/or Google docs, sheets and slides.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other relational data systems
  • Experience operating standard office equipment, including pertinent information technology and software applications; scheduling activities, meetings, and office practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills 
  • Experience and enthusiasm to take initiative and learn new skills.
  • Experience working in an environment of diverse individuals and groups.
Desired Qualifications*
  • Experience working with data sheets.
  • Passionate about being a part of Wolverine Pathways’ and ODEI’s shared vision of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus.
  • Bi-lingual: fluent communication of spoken and written Spanish language
Hourly Rate $20.00/hour to $22.00/hour
Hours 16.0 to 24.0 hours per week
