The Center for the Assessment of Tobacco Regulations (CAsToR) aims to provide evidence-based and expert-informed modeling of the behavioral and public health impacts of tobacco regulations. We are hiring research assistants interested in tobacco research to collaborate on an exciting research project. We are conducting an umbrella review to synthesize findings from existing systematic and scoping reviews on the association between individual, environmental, social, and product factors and youth & young adult combustible tobacco product use behavior. The findings of this review will serve as a key step in developing an agent-based model to explore nicotine product use pathways among adolescents and young adults. This model will evaluate potential regulatory actions and their short- and long-term implications under varying nicotine product availability scenarios. The research assistants will work closely with the Research Area Specialist and other team members. The primary duties of the research assistants will be: - Screen journal article titles and abstracts, as well as full text of articles, for inclusion/exclusion per study eligibility criteria, using systematic review software to track decisions
- Locate full text of missing articles and upload to systematic review software
- Assist in creation and piloting of data extraction form
- Conduct a quality assessment of included articles using a standardized assessment tool
- Conduct and/or verify AI-conducted data extraction
- Regular meetings with supervisor and team
