Job Description

Join our team to support the design and prototyping of functional industrial parts using FDM 3D printing. Leverage your expertise in 3D modeling to refine existing designs and create innovative electronic housings from concept to completion. Projects include adapting existing designs for manufacturability, incorporating features such as removable battery compartments, and designing user-friendly interfaces for electronic components. You’ll receive hands-on mentorship while independently driving your tasks forward, making tangible impacts on real- world products.
Educational Value

Students will receive guidance, direction, and exposure to product development. They will receive hands-on mentorship while taking ownership of their project, driving innovation in groundbreaking products.
Job Requirements

Expertise in 3D modeling (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) Designing for manufacturability and prototyping using FDM 3D printing Experience designing electronic housings i.e snap-fits, screw threads, etc.
Hours 15.0 to 20.0 hours per week
Compensation $15.00/hour to $25.00/hour
When Job is Available Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer
Start Date ASAP
End Date on-going work for as long as student needs / at completion of project

Work Location Remote work with flexible hours—work on your own schedule, including evenings and weekends. On-campus meetings available to fit your class schedule. Occasional visits to our lab at 4330 Varsity Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48108, for integration work on the prototype.
