Educational Value of this position is many: Learn to work as a team to accomplish a task on schedule, improve communication skills with others to effectively produce a successful event, become more detailed oriented by learning/improving on following very specific instructions, be able to understand and see first hand how an event is produced from beginning to end that involves a multitude of vendors from catering, floral, to staging/lights, sound, etc. and experience how a small business is run. Our business have hired dozens of UM college students over the past 15 years. Some have stayed with us over their entire college career because it's a great part time job with flexibility even during school. We have also written many letter of recommendations for deserving students for graduate and professional schools.
