Job Description

Job Description: The DART Laboratory at the Taubman college school of Architecture and Urban Planning is seeking a creative and driven individual to lead its social media efforts. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for digital communication, experience in social media strategy, and a knack for audience engagement. The Social Media Manager will play a key role in promoting the lab's initiatives, sharing its achievements, and fostering an online community.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement effective strategies to increase the lab’s visibility and impact across platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.
  • Visual and Written Content Creation: Develop, write, and curate compelling multimedia content—such as images, videos, graphics, and written posts—crafted to engage audiences and align with the specific trends, tone, and style of each platform. This includes creating attention-grabbing captions, informative articles, blog posts, and storytelling narratives to maximize audience connection and impact.
  • Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, inquiries, and messages to foster meaningful interactions and build an active online community.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track social media metrics to assess performance and refine strategies for better reach and engagement.
  • Collaborative Content Development: Work closely with team members to align messaging with the lab's goals and support visual storytelling efforts.

Job Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

  •  Proven experience managing social media accounts for organizations or brands.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) and familiarity with scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to tone and audience.
  • Ability to analyze data and derive insights to optimize performance.
  • Enthusiasm for storytelling, collaboration, and digital outreach.
Hourly Rate $16.00/hour to $20.00/hour
Hours 5.0 hours per week
