Job Description

The Surveys of Consumers (SCA) project has measured consumer expectations for over seventy years and publishes the Consumer Sentiment Index each month. The data collected are widely utilized by government agencies, financial institutions, businesses, and the general public. SCA is housed within the Survey Research Center (SRC) at the Institute for Social Research (ISR).

Seeking a student archivist for Summer 2025 and the 2025-2026 academic year to support archival efforts. The student in this role will be responsible for organizing and digitizing historical reports, presentations, and memos, improving the archive’s organizational system, and enhancing accessibility of materials for staff and stakeholders.

Job Requirements

We are seeking a currently enrolled student who meets the following criteria:

  • Candidate is studying information science, library sciences, or similar, or has a demonstrated interest in these fields
  • Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Must be available to start in late April or early May 2025, and work throughout the upcoming academic year
  • Has experience and comfort working with digital file management systems, scanning equipment, and archival software
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Has the ability to work independently, including individual work in a basement archive or at Hatcher library

Hourly Rate $15.00/hour to $22.00/hour
Hours 15.0 to 29.0 hours per week
