Job Summary: The Engaged Learning Office (ELO) seeks a Data Specialist to gather and maintain data and metadata related to clients and contacts for School of Information client-based courses and programs (CBCPs). The Data Specialist will be responsible for organizing and maintaining data integrity for CBCP data, past and present. The ideal candidate is thrilled to spend time on detail-oriented work, excited about cleaning and organizing data, enjoys meticulously maintaining data, and is interested in data reporting, and maintaining and updating data processes and documentation to ensure a clean and well-maintained complex Salesforce system. Responsibilities:Specifically, the Data Specialist will: 1) update and maintain data standards, maintain data integrity in Salesforce and Google spreadsheets for current and past data related to CBCPs and, 2) collect, clean, and prepare data on past, current, and future CBCPs for input into Salesforce. Additional work may include contributing to the development of reports, dashboards, narratives, and metadata related to historical and current datasets for internal and external use by the ELO. A successful candidate will primarily: Input data into Salesforce including new contacts, organizations, and other related information Assist with maintaining workflow in Salesforce Assist with building reports and dashboards in Salesforce
Other potential tasks may include: Assist with analyzing and visualizing data for current and past CBCPs Assist with identifying tasks and processes to automate in Salesforce Other tasks to be assigned
This position will collaborate with ELO staff including the UMSI Associate Director of External Engagement and Marketing, Relationship Development Program Manager, Data Science Programs Manager, and will be supervised by the External Engagement Project Manager. Work Schedule:Hours of work expected will average 7-10 hours per week, with peak weeks reaching 12 hours. For eligible students, this position could be combined with the Engaged Learning Office Client Based Project Consultant TEMP role. Expected dates of work (negotiable) will be May 5th - August 30th with potential to continue into the fall term. Physical Demands/Work Environment:Candidate must remain stationary for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday Candidate may occasionally move equipment or supplies weighing up to 20 pounds Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
