Job Description

Prof. Ping's lab at MCDB-LSA is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented student worker to assist with lab cleaning and maintenance. 

Responsibilities:

1. Washing glassware and plastic containers. Collect glassware/plastics from cart and above sinks. Follow dishwashing protocol. Restock shelves with clean glassware/plastics. 
2. Washing and sterilizing culture tubes (3-day process). Collect test tubes from cart. Follow test tube cleaning protocol. Restock shelves with tubes.
3. Autoclaving Millipore H2O and restocking shelves. 
4. Take out biohazard trash and replace bag
5. General lab clean-up, organizing equipment on shelves, and restocking consumables as needed.
6. Collect packages on table outside lab space, deliver to person that ordered, and breakdown cardboard box.
7. Check and initial eye wash stations, once a month.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student;

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols;

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently;

  • No prior lab experience required—training will be provided!

  • Must be work-study.

  • Prority given to students able to work during the breaks. 
Hourly Rate $15.00/hour
Hours 5.0 to 20.0 hours per week
