The Southeast Asia Unit of International Studies job includes: opening boxes of books coming from Southeast Asia; doing inventory of the listing of the books coming in, inputting of titles that has been cataloged to ALMA and OCLC. In some instances the student could be the language informer of a SEAsian language.
The person will become familiar with how the unit works; using language skills and knowledge of the book trade of Southeast Asia. They will also become familiar with using the systems that the library uses to make titles available to students.
Knowledge of one main Southeast Asian language; knowledge of searching in any library computer programs (i.e., OCLC or ALMA); ability to communicate, be friendly to other students working in the workroom. Inquisitive mind.
