The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) safeguards and advances U-M's research enterprise by providing its partners with efficient pre-award and non-financial post-award services for the compliant administration of externally sponsored grants, contracts, and ancillary agreements. ORSP aspires to be recognized globally as the leading provider of innovative, high-value guidance on the conduct of sponsored research and other funded activities.
Under the leadership of the Assistant Director, Unfunded Agreements, and/or Contract Officers on the Unfunded Agreements team, this position is responsible for the review and negotiation of unfunded contracts and related agreements for the University of Michigan. Unfunded and related agreements may include: Non-Disclosure Agreements, Clinical Trial Non-Disclosure Agreements, Incoming Data Use Agreements, Outgoing Data Use Agreements, and Reciprocal Data Use Agreements.

Job Requirements

An undergraduate or graduate student studying Law, Political Science, Public Policy, or other related fields at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, University of Michigan Dearborn, or University of Michigan Flint during the term of employment.
Eligible to receive work-study funds during the term of employment.
An interest in learning about or prior experience in contract review and negotiation
Attention to detail, critical thinking, time management, and professionalism
